Can hot water kill woodlouse?

Ever since I moved into my new house I been seeing alot of these bug and I asked my mom what it is she said its some kind of wood bug. Its so gross because my bathroom have a window and everytime when I reach for the shampoo I always see atleast one or two climbing on the window net so I used extremely hot water and aim it on the window net :( Help please....
