Light walls and carpet, dark furniture and dark bedding?

I am looking at purchasing a DEEP dark plum bedding to go on my new bed. The wood of the bed and dressers is an espresso finish and the bed has a tan/beige upholstered headboard. With the walls being light (clay colored) and the carpet being light as well...do you think this plum bedding is a good choice? I have dark drapes as well. Thanks!!!
