How to make a headboard for a bed?

If the head board is only for decorative purpose then a thick hardwood can be cut to size to fit in properly over the bed.First, cotton padding can be glued over the front part of the hardwood, then covered with a satin cloth of preferred choice. Later,crisscross stitching across the padding gives the whole set up a classy look. This can be finally nailed over the bed.
